About Professor Tan

Biography

Chin-An Tan is a full professor in the mechanical engineering department devoted to both teaching and research. His current research goal is to integrate dynamics, controls, and computer science in vehicle mobility and transportation research and robotics applications. His topics of interest include active suspension with road preview, automated parking, simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM), and autonomous robotics. He is also writing a textbook on numerical methods using MATLAB based on the p-squared (P2) pedagogy that he has developed.
